This icey cool set of Colette wings will be listing this Friday!
I thought I'd try the Colette Pix fairy wings with white veins, for winter brides, snow queens, or, maybe you want to cosplay as a dead pix from Carnival Row.
I used the Absinthe iridescent film, which is practically the same as the Aquamarine with maybe a hint more green.
I love the way it looks with the white veining, it makes me think of the brilliant teal and blue you might see in glaciers & icebergs in the arctic. Just like with the single film color Colette wings I've made before, these have an additional layer of fine little veins cut from an opaque vinyl to give them even more dimension and detail without the added weight or difficulties I'd have if I cut ALL of it from aluminum.
I'm including a photo of them against a dark background so you can see the contrast of the veining more, and will be adding more photos soon.
I'll also have 2 Trinket fairy wings listed, and another repeat style, maybe more. I may even list 2 of these Colette wings if I'm able to finish them soon enough.
Wings from this sale will ship next week.

Fairy Wing Flash Sale! Tomorrow, Nov. 17 at 10am Pacific
Sorry to keep you waiting fairies! It took a minute to recuperate from the election stress but I’ve gotten some wings made for you. This Extra Large Pansy set in Ultraviolet film with copper veins is the star of the show.
They’re just a smidge smaller than the giant size, with the upper panels measuring roughly 26 - 27 inches long. They’re laminated with the Ultraviolet iridescent film, which shines mostly violet with some blue and hints of teal and a yellowish undertone. They are also the most clear of the films, so they look very ethereal.
In addition to these, I’ll also have a set of the Colette wings in clear Diamond Fire, there’s a set of the Rainbow Aquatica wings I already listed this weekend (surprise!) and I may add another repeat style if I can find time.

I've got some updates for you.
My Art of Where collection featuring my fairy wing art printed on apparel and accessories has been moved now to my Shopify store.

There's more I want to add to it soon, like cotton face masks among other things!
This should hopefully encourage more sales as well as prevent theft of my product images from scammers.
As you know I already have a huge problem with IP theft, and having no control over the product images in the Art of Where store made me nervous, as I couldn't put a watermark on anything and the scarves were shown in pretty much full view.
The downside is that having them sold thru my site means I'll have to pay sales tax on the full amount of the sale rather than only on the commission I get, so I did have to increase the commission percentage a bit.
Since the POD items are now on my site and there are no issues now fulfilling those orders, I’ve added gift cards!
They can be used to purchase any of my items, but due to the hand made wings so quickly selling out and my switch to no longer regularly taking custom orders I didn’t comfortable offering them before. You can find them at the link below:

The other update, is I've set up my Shopify store with auto donations from purchases of any of my original hand made and digital items to the Transgender Law Center, or The Bail Project.
5% of all physical items (excluding the print-on-demand items) and $1 from each digital purchase will go to either of those organizations.
Right now, Transgender Law is the default charity but you can click on the prompt if you want to change it to The Bail Project.
I chose Transgender Law Center as the current default donation because Black trans people face the worst of discrimination, and helping the least of us always benefits all of us and I know they do good work.
The Bail Project is also helping people who desperately need it, having been jailed unfairly by more conservative enforcement branches that are attempting to silence protest against police brutality.
There may be times I change it so that The Bail Project is the default and you can change it to go to Transgender Law when checking out.
The Art of Where and any future print on demand items I add will be excluded from the auto donations because I am already going to have to eat the cost of sales taxes based on the full sale price for those items I have to pay much more for.
That's pretty much it for today. Unfortunately we now have more fires happening not too far away from us so we are again going to be dealing with long stretches of time without clean air, living with taped up windows. Not how I wanted to spend the first part of autumn, as I now have to wait longer to be able to sand more wing frames :/
Or I'll have to sand with the windows shut, and leave that room empty for the rest of the day so all the metall dust can settle and then get wiped and vacuumed but that makes me nervous. Maybe I'll get lucky with a day or two of good air if the wind shifts!
I only have 2 more wing frames that are powder coated and everything else needs sanding.
Maybe it's a good time for more mini wings and hair things, I'll figure something out.

How cheap does someone have to be, to find a listing for digital wing overlays and cut & copy the wings out from the preview image rather than buy them for a measly $6.99??
I got a message yesterday linking to an Instagram post from Paris Hilton, asking "are these your wings?" Yes, yes they are, and what is especially disappointing is it appears my wing image was cut from the listing graphic.

That's right - rather than buy the legit files they happened upon, it appears this person instead copied the green wings out of my graphic, infringing on my intellectual property and violating my copyright.
I expect this is what they did because you can still see the edges of the yellow wings that are behind the green ones in my listing graphic and they included the wings in back on each side, which are in exactly the same position as in the graphic.
The files do not come that way.
I've sent a DMCA to Paris' merch store email, I've commented on the post as well as tweet at her and lots of other people have commented on this as well with no response.
Looks like another artist, Indg0 may have also been infringed in this image!

This is not the first celebrity infringement and I'm sure it sadly won't be the last as long as entitled wealthy celebs assume they can take whatever they want from indie artists due to their privilege and power. Paris Hilton's image is shown here in Fair Use, for the purposes of criticism, public commentary and communicating important news to the public about a public figure. Electric Rainbow Aynia Fairy Wings Listing Sunday, 9/13 at 9pm PDT
These convertible Aynia fairy wings have my digitally hand painted electric rainbow color pattern applied to the clear Diamond Fire iridescent film and black veining.
I may have a few repeat single color wings offered as well in this flash sale, tomorrow, Sept 13 at 9pm PDT.
A reminder that I haven't been able to get a hold of the clear elastic I used to include for straps, so they are now sold without them.
I usually ship within 3 business days of the sale, however, there's a small chance there may be delays due to the fire and smoke issues affecting California and the whole west coast.
I'm incredibly grateful that I'm still in my home and able to stay in business, even if I am very depressed and anxious about being trapped in here because the air outside is toxic, and covid is still a problem that keeps me from safely being able to do anything fun indoors anywhere else.

Well if you are a Patreon patron it’s not so much a surprise, but usually I like to announce things more ahead of time.
Tomorrow, Friday 9/4 at 8am Pacific Daylight Time, I’ll be listing all of the pieces below - 2 crowns, 3 hair combs and 3 each of the dark and light crystal Nightshade necklaces.
I’m never sure if any of these accessory pieces will be repeated because sometimes the specific settings & findings are unavailable after I’ve used a small batch, but I can tell you now I won’t repeat those tiaras exactly. That brass stamping was torture to solder to the metal band and although some of that was my own inexperience with soldering these types of things together, much of it was that type of stamping with no flat areas in back of it is just plain difficult to solder especially for a piece that needs to flex to be worn.
If it weren’t for an opportunity that unexpectedly came up, i would have jumped ahead by now to getting my own crown design cut from metal and am still moving forward with that.
Next time I offer crowns, they should be completely original pieces with a few added commercially available embellishments like jewels and their settings.
