That’s right, they’re finally here, easy to assemble flapping fairy wing mechanism kits so your wings can flutter!
Three kits with cover included will be listed tomorrow, Nov 11 at 12pm Pacific Standard Time.
The soldering has already been done for you, the code is uploaded, the bearings & servo horns and magnets already installed.
Wing panels are not included.
These kits are made to work with my standard size Ethereal Collection wing panels. You might be able to make other wings work with it but I can’t guarantee it. In the future we may add a different servo attachment that will work more universally.
All the hardware is included but you will need some basic tools such as small wrenches (hex and / or Allen wrenches), screwdrivers, and a torch or heat gun to install the servos and mount the circuit boards to the back brace, and apply shrink wrap to some of the cords & wires. We’ll include instructions.
Below are photos of the opening in the cover with a ruler so you can check the clearance for your wings.
They will be listing for somewhere around $500, the wood one will be a little more as it involves more cleanup and has been sanded. The matte lavender one will be slightly reduced as there is a visible line going horizontally across the bottom half.
They will all have some slight imperfections such as tiny pock marks or rougher patches along areas that are more complex to print. Our 3D printer is pretty old by tech standards and we are looking at getting a better one or getting these printed off-site in the future.
They are all printed out of PLA, which can be sanded, primed and painted. Super glues should work well if you want to attach decorative elements to the cover.
