For Palestine.
I haven't been able to get the invasion of Gaza off my mind. Can't forget the images I've seen of so much suffering and the deaths of innocents, that photo of children's little feet sticking out from rubble that crushed them and now skeletal children starving while Israel's military prevents hundreds of aid trucks filled with food and medicine from entering.
I want to reiterate that my anger is directed at the govt of Israel, not Jewish people. Very many Jewish people are actually leading the cry for a permanent ceasefire, they know what this kind of ethnic cleansing leads to.
I've spoken out, I've donated hundreds between the UNRWA and Doctors Without Borders but none of it seems like enough as the killing of innocent civilians continues. So, now I'm turning to art. I had this idea in mind for a couple months and at first the depression over this situation overwhelmed any inspiration I had, but I finally finished.
I simply needed somewhere to put my emotions about Gaza, and wanted to contribute something to help keep the message alive. This idea has been on my mind for months and to me, wings have always been a symbol of freedom, of liberation, and so I thought they'd be an appropriate symbol here.
The kites are important as well.
They're inspired by this poem by a Palestinian poet who was killed in this current invasion:
“IF I MUST DIE”

Did you miss me? Are you ready for more fairy wings? Let’s start with these painted Cosette wings.
These Cosette wings from my Pixish Collection have been painted in the ‘Blue Dream’ strain - I mean, colorway ;) I laminated it onto the Ultraviolet iridescent film and the veins are black.
The next set of wings are the Trinket wings done in Absinthe with silver chrome veins.
Unfortunately, this may be the last set of wings I can offer in the Absinthe film due to supply chain issues the vendor is having. I’m really hoping things get resolved but they said they have no idea if they can. I’ll actually have 2 sets of these listed.
I’ll also have a set of Elvina wings in Dark Crystal and Nightshade wings in Blush, both with silver chrome veins as well.

I'm happy to report that the lawsuit between SHEIN and myself has been amicably settled out of court.

I hope everyone is having a safe & relaxing holiday week. I know it doesn't seem especially merry to me this year with what is happening in Gaza, as well as in Sudan, the Congo and other countries where people are being oppressed, displaced and killed.
I'm grateful to be (relatively) healthy right now, I have shelter, heating, and food in the fridge when many others don't. I'm definitely struggling this year far more than others, but things could always be worse. What I really wanted for Xmas this year was a ceasefire, and I will feel unsettled as long as innocents are being killed for a land grab or revenge, and I will not stop speaking up about it and demanding my congressional reps do the same.
What I have not been able to do is make any substantial donations to this cause like I wish I could, but I have to make sure rent is covered and that's just barely happening right now. I feel a bit embarrassed to admit to this, but I also know many artists are feeling the same strain due to a variety of reasons - the increasing cost of living, inflation, and even continuing supply chain issues due to covid as well as due to wars. Once I am out of this hole, I really want to be able to donate again, to Doctors Without Borders or one of the other reputable organizations making a difference, as well as make some protest art that's been floating around in my mind to help spread awareness.
If by any chance you have some last minute or belated holiday gift shopping to do, I've also added new gift card amounts and am going to offer special wing orders to gift card recipients whose cards were purchased between now and Jan. 1 since it can be tough sometimes to catch what you want in flash sales.
Although I was informed yesterday that there was an issue with the correct gift card amount not being charged initially, that issue has now been resolved.

Be safe out there, remember covid is still here and in some areas is spiking past the original omicron infection rate, so testing before gathering would be an excellent idea as would insuring good ventilation or even gathering outside if the weather is nice. There's even a new home molecular test called Metrix that's closer in accuracy to PCR and more affordable than Cue, AND it can test saliva which is fantastic for littles and anyone who struggles with nasal swabs.

I’ve got some special wings I finished, and they’ll be listing Sunday 12/10 at 8pm PST. These are the extra large Ellette fairy wings, painted in the ‘Water Lily’ palette, laminated onto clear Diamond Fire film with gold veining.
I was inspired by the colors of a water lily on a pond at twilight, and tried to capture that palette for this. Should I paint other wings in this palette? They will be $729, which is discounted from what they’d usually sell for as I know funds are tight for a lot of people - including myself, and I don’t want them to sit around for too long.
The other new set of wings is the standard sized Fauna design, painted with pink edges & green at the base, with an ‘eye’ detail, that I’ll call Rose Petal. It’s laminated with the Ultraviolet iridescent film and the veins are gold. They will be priced at $490 plus shipping.
The other two repeat wings will be Nightshade in Poison Apple with gold veins and Nightshade in Dark Crystal with Silver veins.

In this flash sale I’ll be listing at least 3, possibly 4 sets of painted fairy wings (will update that number later today) which will include these Fayette wings from the Pixish Collection, done in the ‘Water Lily’ theme with greens & blues and touches of pink laminated onto the clear Diamond Fire film, with gold veining. They will be $590 plus shipping.
The next set of painted wings are the 26 inch long Trinket wings with the Celestial theme laminated onto the clear Aurora film, and chrome silver veining. These ended up with a bit more wrinkling on the back than usual so there will be a small discount. I’ve included some close-ups of what that looks like in the front and back, you can see that it’s not really apparent in the front so I don’t really consider these to be defective enough to re-do them. Sometimes the wrinkling happens after I’ve laminated the film possibly due to not enough tension in the process of laminating.

These Elvina wings painted in the 'Blue Dream' color theme, laminated onto the Ultraviolet iridescent film with silver chrome veins will be listing tomorrow as well. They’ll be $490 plus shipping.
A set of the Colette painted wings in the green Absinthe & Arsenic colorway, laminated onto the clear Diamond Fire film with black veins will also be listing. These photos are of the set I made for a customer’s order previously, the ones listing Sunday will be the same. They will be $510 plus shipping.
The wings are all ready-to-ship but will be shipped after Wednesday as I’m out of the packaging for them and waiting for them to be delivered. There might be a set or two of un-painted repeat wings but I’m still deciding whether they should wait till the next sale.
As I’ve mentioned before, the painted wings now include an additional layer of clear film on top of the print for extra protection, water resistance and durability. However, I still haven’t tested them under water so I can NOT promise they would survive a swim or underwater shoot. As always, they are digitally hand painted by me and printed onto a layer of vinyl.
