Mother of Pearl Dragon Wings

This was a special order for my friend Elizabeth Johnson, who will be wearing these beauties to the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade ball next month. She is having a Dark Pearl costume made by Fairytas, and a Light Pearl dragon gown made by DarkSpectre Couture.
These are made from the older Draconia design I used to make, but now doubled and made convertible.
The Dark Pearl has black velvet flocking on the edges and they’ve been digitally hand painted.

Next is the Light Pearl Dragon set, made with a hybrid film of the Satin White and Lilac, with Opal foil edge design and hand inked directly on the film.

I went a little nuts with the edge designs, and they are the largest ones I’ve done so far with the most complexity. They are my own original decorative designs that I created in Illustrator.
If you’d like to see the process of making the embellishments BTS (not including the actual vector work) you can see that if you are a patron of mine at any level, on Patreon, here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/light-and-dark-28694055

The Fairy Wing Tutorial You've Been Waiting For...

It’s finally here, with early access for my Patrons on Patreon!

For years you've asked, so tonight, I've posted my first ever iridescent fairy wing tutorial to my Patrons of all tier levels at Patreon!
You'll get early access to the tutorial video, full materials list and SVG cutting file for Cricut Maker. The file can work in any Cricut or Silhouette machine, however your settings may need to be different on an Explore and a Silhouette will have different software and tools.

You don't need a machine to use this technique, however using a Cricut rather than an X-Acto knife is what I cover in the video and will be much easier on your hands.
All the materials are fairly affordable and accessible. Please note that this is not a tutorial for cutting metal frames like I have on my wings but the end result will look fairly similar. The wings in the video above are what you'll be making.
Have fun wing crafting, and happy fluttering!
~

Awesome fairy ear tips by Geekling Creations!

Aquatica Rainbow Fairy Wings with Opal Foil and Swarovski Crystals

Last minute wings for tomorrow’s sale at 11am PST (6/23/19), the Aquatica wings done in a rainbow theme embellished with opal iridescent foil and Swarovski crystals at the tips.

They will list for $525 plus shipping.
These would be wonderful for Rainbow Dash cosplay don’t you think?
And of course, it’s Pride month, for which the rainbow has become the official colors.
Let’s not forget though, that Stonewall was a riot, and we owe today’s rainbows and parades to a black trans woman who sparked the fight and eventual mainstream celebrations.
It has taken a lot of literal blood and tears to get to where we are, but things seem to be rolling backwards at the same time during these last few years unfortunately, and black trans women are the most in danger of all.
10% of the sale of these wings will be donated to The Trevor Project. You can find more information, or donate directly, here: https://www.thetrevorproject.org/
You can also see a video (enhanced with KiraKira sparkles app) HERE

New Hybrid Aynia / Fauna Fairy Wings, Listing 6/23 at 11am PST

Now that the Aynia design has been made convertible, I can mix & match with the Ethereal Collection wings. In this case, with the Fauna lower panels! This set is made with the iridescent Lilac film and candy coat gold veining.

Unlike the Bubble Rider fairy wings, there is only one set of these wings that will be available.
So put Sunday at 11am Pacific Time on your calendar and be ready right at the start time! The shop link is: https://fancy-fairy-wings-things.myshopify.com/

Licensed Amy Brown Bubble Rider Fairy Wings are Back!

That’s right! A handful of Amy Brown Bubble Rider fairy wings have been cut AND are now convertible!

They are being released in celebration of the new Fickle board game by Bard Games featuring Amy’s artwork. They’ve been funded well beyond their goals so I hope you’re ready to play! You can find more about the game HERE
Two sets of these in iridescent clear Diamond Fire with black veining will be on sale this Sunday for $390 each, June 23rd at 11am PST!

Flash Sale Tomorrow, Wed. May 29 at 8:30pm!

Small wing sale ahead! Tomorrow, Wednesday May 29 at 8:30pm Pacific.
Not many sets but don’t worry, more are always on the way and I’ve been working on more accessory wings & things that will be in a different sale.
I also have an announcement - the Aynia wings are now convertible!
Just one set in this sale, painted in a palette I’m calling Grapevine. Wine, fuchsias and purples on the iridescent Lilac base with black veins. There is a subtle organic veiny pattern in the painting.

Next are the Ivy wings, this time in Patina Green with pearl white veining. There will be two sets of these in the same colors.

Last will be the Elvina wings, and there will be two sets… sort of. I accidentally cut the upper panels a little bit differently than usual, so one set will have a slightly spikier bottom of the upper panel. The photos below show those, and that set will be slightly discounted.
